Dr. Teresa Raczek is the chair of the Department of Geography and Anthropology. She is an anthropological archaeologist using collaborative and participatory methodologies to study early community formations in India.
During Research with Relevance, Dr. Raczek discussed her research exploring Chatrikhera, a small village that has been around for thousands of years. She explained the importance of creating a collaborative and participatory study to understand the people living in the village now and their ancestral communities.
Dr. Raczek has collaborated on five edited volumes and published many articles focused on heritage practice and early complex societies. She received her PhD in Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania and her MA in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago.
