Assistant Professor Irish Horsey to serve as Interim-Chair for the Department of Construction Management

Irish Horsey serves as an assistant professor of construction management at Kennesaw State University (石榴直播) and is a built environment professional. Professor Horsey teaches courses in the areas of

Construction Safety, Construction Project Management, Real Estate Development Practices, and Market and Site Analysis. Prior to joining 石榴直播 in 2017, professor Horsey was the program director for the Commercial Construction Management program at Gwinnett Technical College.

Irish has worked as an award-winning construction management professional for over 20 years with successful program management, project management, real estate and business development experience in the AEC industry.  An accomplished construction manager, she worked for leading organizations in the public and private sectors delivering successful projects, programs, and winning proposals.  She credits her success in the industry to making her a better professor and advisor to her students. 

Irish is currently pursuing a PhD in Building Construction at the Georgia Institute of Technology with a minor in public policy.  Her proposed dissertation title is Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: Effect of Decertification and Competing in the Georgia Transportation Construction Marketplace. Irish is passionate about education and the building industry.  She wants to contribute to the built environment through educating its future leaders and creating a more diverse construction workforce.

Professor Horsey will serve the Construction Management department in the role of interim-chair for the foreseeable future.
