ONE Choice Bystander Intervention Training

One Choice invites participants to reassess the role the community has in preventing power-based personal violence (dating/domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking), encourages participants to believe that their contribution matters, and engages participants in education that will expand their knowledge base and skill set to take action.

After completion of this training, each participant should be able to: 

  • Identify unhealthy behaviors that may lead to power-based personal violence
  • Recognize the role, obstacles, and options of a bystander
  • Assist in creating a campus culture that does not tolerate power-based personal violence of any kind 

Salary Negotiation Workshops

According to the American Association of University Women (AAUW), women working full-time in the United States typically are paid just 80 percent of what men are paid, a gap of 20 percent. This workshop seeks to empower women with the skills and confidence they need to successfully negotiate their salaries and benefits. 

In this workshop participants will gain confidence in their ability to negotiate through facilitated discussion, role-play activities, and learn skills they will use for the rest of their working lives, such as:

  • How to identify and articulate their personal value
  • How to develop an arsenal of persuasive responses and other negotiation strategies
  • How to conduct objective market research to benchmark a target salary and benefits
  • How the pay gap affects their economic security and life goals

LeadHER Women's Leadership Program

LeadHER is an 8-week leadership development program open to all who identify with the broad definitions and experiences of womanhood, and who share in the mission to support gender equity. Through interactive workshops, engaging discussions, self-reflection, and mentorship from WRC staff, participants will gain insight into their personal values, build key skills, explore critical gender equity issues, and practice community responsibility. LeadHER also aims to help students address barriers common for women in leadership - reporting bias and harassment, combating the confidence gap, challenging imposter syndrome, and practicing self-advocacy.

  • As a result of participating in the LeadHER Program, students will:

    1. Reflect upon their personal values, strengths, and leadership style, and identify strategies and opportunities to effectively apply these
    2. Understand their own and others’ identities and how those impact experiences of leadership
    3. Assist in creating a safe and inclusive campus culture that empowers bystanders and does not tolerate interpersonal violence
    4. Develop strategies for self-advocacy in their personal, academic, and professional lives
  • In order to participate in the LeadHER program, students must be:

    • A 2nd-year undergraduate student or above
    • Able to attend ALL 8 sessions on Tuesdays from 3:30 - 5:00 PM
    • Express commitment to personal growth and the advancement of gender equity
