  • SAT Minimum Scores

    • EB Reading and Writing: 500
    • Math: 570

    New ʯÁñÖ±²¥ students who did not meet the admission requirements for the B. Arch program and who plan to apply for a Change of Major into the program should:

    • Review the Change of Major requirements
    • Declare the Science, Computing and Technology Focus Area
    • Pursue their ʯÁñÖ±²¥ General Education courses and review the General Education requirements of the B.Arch curriculum
  • Transfer students must meet the following requirements for admission into the Bachelor of Architecture program:

    • 2.5 College GPA

    Admitted ʯÁñÖ±²¥ Architecture Major transfer students with college-level credit in Architecture or allied disciplines may submit a Curriculum Placement Request to the Architecture Department Chair. Please see below for more information.

  • Current ʯÁñÖ±²¥ students may apply for a Change of Major to Architecture. The following conditions must be met for acceptance:

    • 24 ʯÁñÖ±²¥ credit hours earned
    • 2.5 ʯÁñÖ±²¥ GPA
    • Ready to take MATH 1113 or higher upon acceptance
  • ʯÁñÖ±²¥ and Transfer students may be eligible to enter the Architecture Program through the Accelerated Track. Please select the button below for more information.

B.ARCH Program

The Bachelor of Architecture program at ʯÁñÖ±²¥ is a 5-year, NAAB accredited degree that leads to eligibility for licensure as an architect and requires a full and consecutive ten-semester studio sequence. Please see the full Bachelor of Architecture curriculum chart under "".

Freshmen and Non-design Transfer Students

All incoming freshmen and non-design transfer students should formally apply to ʯÁñÖ±²¥ for admission to the University and declare the Architecture Major. Once admitted, all incoming architecture students are required to attend New Student Orientation and have the option to join the Architecture Summer Design Workshop.

Transfer Students

All admitted architecture major transfer students with college-level credit in architecture or allied disciplines may submit a Curriculum Placement Requestto the Architecture Department Chair. The department will evaluate potential lecture and elective courses for equivalency and will evaluate potential studio courses for placement within the ten-semester architecture studio sequence. The Department Chair decision on equivalency and placement is final.

    • One letter from the professor of the highest-level studio presented in your portfolio

Architecture Degree Requirements

Students pursuing a Bachelor of Architecture must complete all degree requirements, including general education, lower and upper division requirements specific to the major, other major- specific requirements, electives, and University-wide degree requirements. Portfolio Review

All Architecture Major students must pass a portfolio and progression review at the end of their second year for admittance into the third-year of the program.

Portfolios will be reviewed by architecture faculty members using the following Portfolio Review Guidelines and Portfolio Review Criteria.

  • A portfolio review and curriculum review evaluation are mandatory for all students seeking to enter the upper division (3rd through 5th year) of the BArch – Professional Program Curriculum. Students must successfully pass the lower division (2nd through 3rd year) spring semester Portfolio Review Evaluation Process.

    There are three (3) components of the Portfolio Review Evaluation Process, and it is imperative that each applicant be successful in each of the following three components:

    1. You are in good academic standing at ʯÁñÖ±²¥ and have completed all Georgia Core courses required in the Curriculum Flow Chart with a minimum grade of 'C.'

    2. You have met all lower division BArch course requirements with a minimum course grade of 'C' and a minimum cumulative Curriculum GPA of 2.5.

    3. You have successfully submitted documentation and passed the Portfolio Review Evaluation Process with a cumulative minimum average score of 2.5.

      note: The minimum cumulative Curriculum GPA of 2.5 is considered "acceptable" and "satisfactory."
