MSIT Program Requirements

The IT department offers the MSIT program (30 credit hours) and 5 graduate certificates (12 credit hours each): Data Analytics and Intelligent Technology, IT Security, Enterprise IT Management, Health IT and IT Foundation.

The IT foundation certificate is designed to prepare students who don’t have computing background transitioning into the Master program. The other four certificates focus on a special IT area. All the graduate certificates are both standalone and embedded in the MSIT program. In other words, you can apply for the certificate only if you are just interested in a specific IT field. If you are in the MSIT program, the graduate certificate can be considered a concentration of your study.

MSIT Program Learning Student Outcomes:

On successful completion of this program, graduates will be able to:

PSLO#1. Analyze a complex problem and apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to elaborate solutions to it.

PSLO#2. Design, implement, and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of requirements in the context of the IT discipline.

PSLO#3. Communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts.

PSLO#4. Recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgments in computing practice based on legal and ethical principles.

PSLO#5. Function effectively as a member and leader of a team engaged in activities appropriate to the IT discipline.
