Timeline

  • CCSE awards committee distributes call for nominations: October 1st, or the next business day if October 1st falls on a weekend or holiday.
  • November 1st (or the next business day if November 1st falls on a weekend or holiday), deadline to submit application package to the chair of the CCSE Awards Committee as described on each award page. Faculty must include a cover sheet without signatures. Staff must include responses to the questions on the submissions form and two letters of support.  
    Combine your package as one pdf file and submit the form by the deadline to the . 
  • December 1st (or the next business day if December 1st falls on a weekend or holiday), the winners of the CCSE faculty and staff awards are announced by the CCSE Awards Committee.  
  • The packages of the winners of CCSE awards and runner-ups are forwarded to CETL. The CCSE Awards Committee can forward applications of past winners to the 石榴直播 Awards Committee upon request. However, this option is only available for applications submitted within the past two years. Applicants wishing to have their updated packages considered again by the 石榴直播 Awards Committee can request the CCSE Awards Committee to do so by the stated deadline. 

Additional Criteria for Outstanding Early Career Faculty Award: The application should include a) a comprehensive review of all three faculty performance areas; b) impact on student success; c) significance of contributions to computing. 

Additional Criteria for Outstanding Teaching and Online Teaching Awards:  The application should include evidence of a) staying abreast of cutting-edge research and trends in computing; b) integration of the latest content and best practices into the courses; c) employing student-centered and engaging teaching methods that prioritize active learning.

The College of Computing and Software Engineering Broadening Participation in Computing (BPC) Award.

The CCSE Broadening Participation in Computing (BPC) Award is to celebrate a faculty/administrator/staff member who has made the most impactful efforts to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion in the college. The purpose of the award is to demonstrate commitment to diversity and inclusion. A nominee shall demonstrate understanding and appreciation of diversity and inclusion issues.  
Criteria: 

  • conduct diversity research and scholarly activities that enhance diversity and inclusion in computing, and or 
  • assist in the recruitment and retention of diverse faculty, staff, students, and or 
    promote an understanding of and sensitivity to diversity issues among colleagues and students, and or 
  • participate in opportunities to raise awareness of diversity and inclusion in computing within the community, and or 
  • use professional development opportunities to learn about inclusion and diversity in computing.
